Starring two magnetic and beloved French actresses, Simone Simon and Edwige Feuillere, Olivia is a delight on screen. It is set in a 19th-century boarding school for girls, a space reminiscent of Hitchcock’s Rebecca where the two mistresses of the house, compete for the affection and love of their students in a dangerous game of seduction, manipulation and attraction. At a time when homosexuality was still largely considered deviant. this trailblazing director made a fundamentally feminist film.

Cinematographer: Christian Matras | Screenwriter: Colette Audry / based on the novel by Dorothy Bussy
Cast: Edwige Feuillère, Simone Simon, Marie-Claire Olivia
