Pfeiffer's Pfinest Pfilms is the theme for this winter selection of DFS Member's screenings, as we take a quick look at three cinematic greats from one of our greatest living actors; Michelle Pfeiffer. Quickly proving to be much more than just a pretty face, Pfeiffer infused typical "girl" roles with bite, charm and something much more behind her blue eyes. This series looks at just five years (1988 - 1993) of Pfeiffer's decades long career which saw a great amount of growth and acclaim and some very notable roles.

Wealthy lawyer Newland Archer (Daniel Day-Lewis) is engaged to sweet socialite May Welland (Winona Ryder) in 1870s New York. On the surface, it is a perfect match. But when May's beautiful cousin Countess Ellen Olenska (Michelle Pfeiffer), who is estranged from her brutish husband, arrives in town, Newland begins to question the meaning of passion and love as he desperately pursues a relationship with Ellen, even though she has been made a social outcast by Archer's peers.

Cinematographer: Michael Ballhaus | Screenwriter: Jay Cocks, Martin Scorsese / Based on the novel by Edith Wharton
