First-time feature director Pawel Maslona weaves together six tales about ordinary people pushed to the breaking point by dilemmas often of their own making in this Polish social satire disguised as a darkly humorous, multipart character study.

The script, written by Maslona with two of the movie’s stars, Aleksandra Pisula and Bartlomiej Kotschedoff, abounds with haplessness. A pregnant bride is determined to stage the perfect wedding and perfect birth—but not on the same day. A couple is seated next to an unrelentingly chipper passenger on a disastrous flight. A woman with a loudly ticking biological clock meets not one but two of her exes on the same evening, while another is willing to move heaven and earth to keep her friends from learning what she really does for a living. A hard-core gamer engages his exasperated mother's help to save his online realm. And, in an especially relatable segment, a teenager smokes pot for the first time.
