Co-directors Nova Ami and Velcrow Ripper remain doggedly optimistic in the face of global environmental crisis, viewing it as an opportunity for enlightenment and change as much as the punishing consequence of human consumption and development. Their stunningly beautiful (and surprisingly soothing) documentary takes the pulse of our earth and bears witness to a moment of profound change—the loss of one world and the birth of another—while capturing the true scale of the world’s environmental plight.

Forest fires consume communities, species vanish, and entire ecosystems collapse. Economic growth, tied to the increased speed of resource extraction, has created a machine with the capacity to destroy all life. But this crisis also points the way toward potential transformation, and through a tidal flow of stunning images, Metamorphosis traces a path from the present to the future and offers a bold new vision for humanity and the world.

Director Velcrow Ripper will be in attendance for the Sat. Nov. 10th screening.
