Overview

Despite the shift in cinema over the past several decades toward digital technologies, opportunities remain for moving-image artists to reinvent the ways people think about analog film. Join the members of local nonprofit Process Reversal in a discussion about its continued popularity, accessibility and importance as a creative and archival medium.

Topics will include Process Reversal’s own involvement with an international network of artists and technicians dedicated to keeping photochemical processes relevant and affordable through the sharing of knowledge, resources and technologies. This network, loosely known as the “artist-run film lab community,” has grown considerably over the past decade and has led to the establishment of new labs across the globe; efforts to open an artist-run motion-picture workspace right here in Denver are underway.
