Overview

An obese, depressed recluse who lives with his mother faces a Sisyphean task when he’s cajoled by his brother, the golden child of the family, to transport a coffin across the border. Along the way, he finds he has a connection with the corpse—and a reason to live—in this black comedy from Italian director Andrea Magnani.

As a youth, Isidoro was a go-kart racing champ, but the years have taken on a toll on him, and his early success has been eclipsed by that of his brother Filo, the manager of a construction firm. When one of his workers, a Ukrainian immigrant, is killed on the job, Filo sees a way to cover his own behind and perhaps kick his brother’s into rare action: by asking Isi to surreptitiously drive the body from their home in Italy to the Ukraine. Naturally, everything goes wrong. But the more it does, the more Isi discovers the wherewithal to overcome obstacles—and experience joy in the process.

The more is anything but the merrier in this brutally funny satire of British society.
