Overview

Algeria’s past and present collide in the lives of three characters in this debut feature drama from Karim Moussaoui, offering a compelling, imaginatively crafted glimpse into the collective soul of a contemporary Arab society.

Mourad, a nouveau riche real-estate developer, is besieged on all sides by his ex-wife, his current wife and his own guilt. Aicha, a young woman, is torn between her desire for Djalil and another promised destiny. And on the eve of his marriage, Dahman, an ambitious neurologist, finds that his wartime past has caught up with him. They each face tough decisions that echo those of a nation at a crossroads.
