Bill Pullman stars in writer-director Jared Moshé’s homage to the golden age of Westerns, which inhabits the gray area between the heroes who wear the white hats and the villains in black.
When famed lawman Eddie Johnson (Peter Fonda) is killed on the Montana frontier, his longtime sidekick Lefty Brown (Pullman) will stop at nothing to avenge his death. But for as long as he had Johnson’s back, he’s not quite sure who has his. Johnson’s wife doubts his ability to step into her late husband’s long shadow; so do the state governor, James Bierce (Jim Caviezel), and US Marshal Tom Harrah (Tommy Flanagan). Even Lefty’s own sidekick, Jeremiah (Diego Josef), is as bent on proving his own mettle as he is on playing second fiddle. Still, Lefty’s not about to ride into the sunset—at least not without a fight.
