Overview

Tangerine Dream is science fiction!—Edgar Froese

As the leader of Tangerine Dream—a groundbreaking German electronic group—Edgar Froese made it his life's work to push the boundaries of sound. Along the way, the band developed a cult following and a reputation for exploration inspired by the music of the human body and the celestial spheres alike.

In January 2015, Froese died, leaving behind a 50-year legacy—and a trove of never-before-seen film footage of the band behind the scenes and on tour in Europe and America. Documentarian Margarete Kreuzer interweaves these found clips with interviews with band members, friends and family—including Froese's wife Bianca Froese-Acquaye—to tell the unique story of Tangerine Dream as it ushered in the era of electronic music.
