Overview

In 2008, ACORN was the largest grassroots community-organizing group in the United States and a major player in the election that resulted in Barack Obama's presidency. As such, it was a target for right-wing activists, who fired accusations involving voter fraud and government waste at the left-leaning organization to little avail. Until, that is, they found allies in a pair of amateur journalists—one the soon-to-be-infamous James O'Keefe—who went undercover in an attempt to expose ACORN via hidden camera as a financial backer for prostitution.

Director Reuben Atlas takes an objective look at the ensuing scandal and its dramatic aftermath, which spawned the now-omnipresent Breitbart Media and contributed to the toxic political climate we live in today.
