Léo, a filmmaker in southern France, defies his writer’s block by going in search of his animal nature, or what he calls “the wolf.” In no time, he has impregnated Marie, a shepherdess—but soon finds himself abandoned with the baby and her grouch of a father. From such an unpromising vantage point, can he nonetheless overcome his existential dilemma?
From writer-director Alain Guirardie, this oddball comedy (Stranger by the Lake) contemplates the nature of fatherhood, sexuality and creativity.
